Photoshop - Chapter 4 - Group Project

I picked the Rubberband group project as my chapter project because I thought that converting an image to grayscale and then applying colors was a neat effect that I just learned in the chapter. The additional skills learned throughout the chapter were; working with colors to transform an image, using the color picker and swatches palette, placing borders around an image, blending colors using the gradient tool, using filters, opacity, and blending modes, and how to match colors, along with adding color to a grayscale image.

Fox Wine Logo - Re-Created - Project #2

Description: The Fox Wine Logo is the second logo in which we were to re-create to the best of our ability. I thought that this assignment was very good. Trying to re-create a look or effect in Illustration makes you explore the tools more in depth. The more I use Illustrator, the more I like it. I don't know how I've gotten along before without it!

Pucker & Bloat Filter - Project #1

Description: This is a design that I created using the Pucker and Bloat Filter. I filled the design with color using the Live Paint Tool. Pucker creates sharp, spiked shapes by curving paths inward from anchor points and moving anchor points outward. Bloat creates the opposite effect - rounded, bloated shapes, by curving paths outward from the anchor point and moving anchor points inward.

Wooden Frame - Using the Symbol Tools

Description: By creating the wooden frame, I first had to learn how to create the wood grain. To create a wood grain you simple have to make the stripes and transform each randomly. Then I used the warp tool, the pucker tool and the twirl tool to to give it a natural wood effect. Then to touch up, I selected all of the lines and squashed it using the Transform Tool.
This will be a very hand technique to know, especially since wood grain goes well with Western Themes.

Chapter 4 - Mona Lisa Stamp

Description: The skills that I learned from chapter 4 include: transforming objects, offset and outline paths, create compound paths, and how to create clipping masks for special effects, including using text as a clipping mask.
